Knock knock knock knock knock
There is a knocking at this house
Who is it?
No one is there.
Knock knock knock knock knock
Search every room with the ear to the wall
Never to find where it is coming from
Knock knock knock knock knock
What do you want?
There is no answer
And so it goes
For 42 years
The house kept knocking and I kept asking
After awhile it got softer
After awhile I didn't hear it
After awhile it became
one of those things
A book never finished
A puzzle never solved
A language never learned
A guitar never played
A room never painted
A girl never dated
A ring never worn
A child never born
Still, it goes on
Knock knock knock knock knock
And still
I won't
